Thesaurus chief leaves Computacenter

Mike Vinten steps down as Thesaurus is further integrated into Computacenter

Mike Vinten: I am very happy with the arrangement

The head of Computacenter-owned IBM Premier Partner Thesaurus has left the company to pursue other interests.

Mike Vinten, chief executive of Thesaurus, stepped down officially at the end of July.

Computacenter bought certain assets of the mainframe specialist last year for £900,000 and it was run as a separate unit within the business. CRN understands that apart from a couple of financial roles, the majority of the Thesaurus team have remained at Computacenter, including the management team.

Speaking to CRN, Vinten said: "We merged the mainframe division into Computacenter and achieved phase one of the integration. But Computacenter needed to integrate it even more.

"It was a mutual agreement that I would leave and I am very happy with the arrangement."

In terms of his next role, Vinten said he was "looking at options", but is keen to stay in the channel.

"I am looking to do something a bit more innovative this time, but am very open minded about my next role, there is no rush," he added.
