Kyocera issues Visas for reseller rewards
Points mean prizes with channel credit card
Printing and imaging vendor Kyocera Mita has launched a reward scheme under which its channel partners can earn money on a Visa debit card and spend it in any way they choose.
The Kyocera Achievers Club rewards partners every time they sell eligible Kyocera products.
Fiona Cook, channel marketing manager at Kyocera UK, said: "The aim of the scheme is to improve and boost sales for Kyocera while giving our high-achieving resellers a reward. A lot of reward schemes provide things people neither need nor want, so we decided to reward our resellers with money. They might treat themselves to a West End show, or pay for their weekly food shopping."
Asked if the scheme has had an effect on sales, Cook replied: "We're still signing resellers to the Achievers Club. We anticipate it will take three months to show an effect."
Leanne Gravil, branch manager at VAR CBC Computers, said: "We've been working with Kyocera for three or four years. We sell all its laser, mono and colour printers, as well as its multi-functional devices, into the public sector and education markets.
"Any channel reward promotion is good for business and this one is quite simple to use. We're putting the rewards into one big pot and will use the money to pay for a team day out."
Kyocera has also given its Club KM channel portal a facelift.
"It will provide our channel partners with a wider range of relevant sales and marketing information," said Cook. "It gives up-to-the-minute information on our product range, latest awards and reviews, as well as access to key marketing and sales tools. Basically, it's 24/7 online virtual account management."
