Channel storms Deloitte Fast 50
VARs and vendors lay claim to prime positions on auditor's list of fastest-growing UK tech firms
Race to the top: A slew of channel firms made it on to Deloitte's Fast 50 this year
A slew of channel firms has been honoured in auditor Deloitte’s annual list of the UK technology industry’s fastest-growing firms.
The Deloitte Technology Fast 50 list ranks companies based on revenue growth over the past five years.
Email archiving vendor Mimecast was the channel’s top performer, with its sales growth of 7,579 per cent over the past five years putting it in third place.
IT consultancy and Microsoft partner Innovise was ranked 10th, with a growth rate of 2,124 per cent. It was followed closely in 13th position by systems integrator Grove Information Systems, whose revenues grew by 1,817 per cent.
Networking vendor Focus 4 U saw its sales soar by 1,700 per cent, putting it in 16th position, while telecommunications vendor Fluidata came 21st, following 1,253 per cent sales growth over five years.
Security vendor Bloxx made the list for the fourth year in a row, with turnover up by 1,262 per cent, putting it in 19th place. Last year, the firm was ranked 34th, with sales up 966 per cent.
Hosting providers Node 4 and Heart Internet came in 22nd and 26th place, with sales spikes of 1,142 per cent and 1,030 per cent respectively.
VAR Content and Code pipped fellow Microsoft partner Concentra to 29th position in the list, with sales of 1,001 per cent. The latter came 31st, with top-line growth of 969 per cent.
Following closely behind was carrier O-bit Telecom in 32nd place, with turnover growth of 956 per cent. Telecoms VAR TTG was ranked 33rd, with sales up by 927 per cent since 2005.
Data centre specialist C4L was ranked 39th, with sales up 823 per cent. Enterprise software vendor Autonomy was 42nd, with 796 per cent growth.
Telecoms specialist Gradwellsecured the final spot on the list thanks to a 652 per cent increase in sales over the past half decade.
In terms of geographical spread, over half of those listed are based in London and the South East. The third best-performing region was Cambridgeshire and the East, which is home to seven of the companies listed.
Four of the companies in this year’s Top 50 are based in the north, which is the same number as last year, and three are from Scotland.
