Career so far I was in the right place at the right time. Ultimately I have found a company where it is inspiring to work with people who are as passionate and driven as I am.
If you could be anyone else for a week, who would you be and what would you do? I think it would have been a fascinating insight to experience the final thoughts and reflections of Steve Jobs and understand how fulfilling he thought his life had been and those things he felt he still would have loved to achieve.
Cloud - friend or foe? Friend. Anything that disrupts the market and makes people think is good for business and stops any complacency. Businesses that succeed in the long term are agile and have an ability to adapt and I have confidence that CAE has the right attributes to succeed.
Has 2011 been as bad as everyone said it would be? I would like to exclude myself from the "everyone" who said it would be bad. 2011 has undoubtedly been challenging but I can't remember a year that hasn't been.
What would you have as your last meal? Veuve Clicquot Grande Dame, foie gras, steak, a bottle of Bordeaux followed by cheese and port.
Who would you like to be stuck in a lift with? I'm not convinced I would actually like to be stuck in a lift but Tim Vine for a non-stop supply of jokes should help manage the ups and downs.
Have any of your predictions come true this year? CAE turnover grew to over £50m as forecasted and I won the CAE football prediction league (again).
What do you see as the channel's biggest challenge in 2012? Differentiation. There is still over supply in the IT market and only those companies that truly have something different to offer will survive.
What is the best part of your day? I became a father for the first time in 2011 and there is something magical about getting home and the smile I get from my daughter as I walk through the door. Apparently I need to enjoy this while it lasts.
