Shaun Lynn

Chief executive, Agilitas

What is your greatest career move to date?

Being a forward-thinker, I'd hope it was still to come. However, the move from IBM GS to Sun Microsystems was a great experience in terms of experiencing cultures at different ends of the spectrum.

What is top of your bucket list?

Whale watching, specifically the Orca killer whale - an apex predator.

What has changed most since you started working in the channel?

The need to constantly offer value. An example is the need to have multiple offerings and products. The way that we consume technology and services has changed massively and the pace will only continue to increase.

How do you think Brexit is going to affect the channel?

The availability of and access to resource will change; those who can improve the skills of their staff and find access to quality partners will definitely have the advantage.

What is your least favourite task during the working day?

Conference calls. They are so impersonal and rarely lead to great progress being made.

If you were an animal, what would you be?

A lion. Who wants to be a sheep? Besides, they sleep for most of the day and are the king of the jungle.

If you won the big one on EuroMillions, what would you do?

I'd need to buy a ticket first. However, cruising around on a sunseeker in the Caribbean sounds nice.

What is your worst habit?

I'm impatient - why does it always take longer than in my head?

How has 2016 been for you?

It has been a positive and yet challenging year, with huge amounts of opportunity within an ever-changing landscape.

If you didn't work in the IT channel, what would be your dream career?

A marshall on a quiet golf course. I like the idea of sitting in a quiet shed with a paper, the radio and a flask of coffee.

What major issues will the channel face in 2017?

Flexible commercial models; consumers want freedom with the ability to flex. This will drive a move from capex models to opex offerings in order to respond.
