After more than three years at the helm of distributor Computer 2000 (C2000), the UK arm of Tech Data, Julian Klein has left the company.
Klein took over the position of managing director in May 2000. As an interim measure, Andy Gass, senior vice president northern Europe at Tech Data, will take over Klein's role for six months, until a replacement can be found.
"Julian's departure has been by mutual agreement and we are sorry to see him go," Gass said.
"I am very excited about working in the UK and taking the business forward. I plan to focus on growing our position in the market."
Ian French, president of rival distributor Bell Microproducts Europe, said: "Julian did a good job at C2000 and was well thought of in the industry."
Klein is the latest in a series of senior management figures to leave C2000 in the past 12 months.
Andy Shepperd, general manager of the firm's networking division, left last April to join Computer Associates, and Rob Epstein, general manager PC components, left for Microsoft in May.
More recently Graeme Watt resigned from his post as president of Tech Data's European operations.
Klein was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
