Partner manager, CA Technologies
Tell us something most people won't know about you
Every April I help host an annual jelly fight for up to 200 children and adults.
What has been your highlight of 2018 so far?
Trying to be more adventurous. I started by completing my first ever mud run and making the promo video for 2019 followed up by riding the longest zipline in Spain, at 436m long.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Which tech firm (other than your own!) do you most admire?
Apple. It is arguably one of the most transformative companies today and is constantly evolving. The company reviews what its competition is doing and takes it one step further. Another area I admire is that 31 per cent of its employees are women.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Silence - pure unadulterated peace and quiet. Silence while drift diving would be the pinnacle.
What is the most irritating tech buzzphrase of 2018?
Any form of acronyms or complex terminology that ‘normal human beings' will not understand - experts flaunting their wisdom while forgetting their audience. A recent European conference began with colleagues promising plain language to a multilingual audience and then talking about ‘ubiquitous disintermediation'.
What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?
Banning television advertising of sugary snacks and fast food, especially on children's channels. A close second would be eliminating centre lane only drivers (CLOD) on motorways. Do not let them travel!
What's the biggest untapped opportunity facing the channel?
The potential to offer unique capabilities as an overall solution end-to-end is where I see many partners succeeding - nothing new, just perfecting a great model which is in client demand. Great service with unrivalled tools delivering exceptional customer experiences.
What is your most treasured possession?
What do your family think you do all day?
My children think I do ‘lunch and a lot of talking'. They have seen CA's picturesque offices and manor house on a beautiful day so possibly think I may also feed the swans and play tennis for most of the day - nothing too brain taxing or strenuous!
Who has been your mentor in business?
My first boss - she was honest, fair, determined, direct and driven. A true inspiration, mentor and ultimately became a great friend.
