Tell us something most people won't know about you
My house burnt down when I was 10 and I lost every single possession.
What has been your highlight of 2018 so far?
Beating Prince Edward 6-4 at tennis in May.
Who would play you in the film of your life?
Damian Lewis. He seems a decent chap and he is one day older than me.
Which tech firm (other than your own!) do you most admire?
I am still impressed with Tesla. It takes big positions and will change an industry.
What is your guiltiest pleasure?
Giggling uncontrollably while reading PG Wodehouse.
What is the most irritating tech buzzphrase of 2018?
‘Disruptive', particularly when the feature or product under discussion is far from disruptive.
What would be your first act if you were made Prime Minister?
Immediately resign. I have absolutely no desire to work in politics at any level.
What's the biggest untapped opportunity facing the channel?
In my opinion it is RPA (Robotic Process Automation).
What is your most treasured possession?
My lifetime collection of books, photos and notes.
What do your family think you do all day?
Quite simply march from meeting to meeting, send emails and make phone calls.
Who has been your mentor in business?
I have never had a formal mentor but I have been privileged to have learnt so much from so many suppliers, customers and competitors.
