Damovo wins NHS deal
System integrator to overhaul Trust's telephony system
System integrator Damovo has won a £500,000 deal to overhaul United Lincolnshire NHS Trust's telephony system.
The deal involves four hospitals. It covers the design and implementation of a Nortel IP phone system, plus a one-year services contract, with the potential to be expanded, according to Paul Renucci, managing director of Damovo.
"The existing voice system was really past its sell-by date. This hybrid system will link up 3,000 users and help improve the Trust's services. We are already talking about other projects on the back of this; it isn't a 'kiss and run' deal. We're hoping it will be a long-term platform for working with the Trust," he said.
Steve Cook, capital project manager at the Trust, said the initial one-year services contract is standard government policy, but that it is usual to renew the deal on a year-by-year basis. "There is definitely the potential for growth with Damovo," he said. "We're looking at areas on the IT data side at the moment."
Public-sector deals account for 70 per cent of Damovo's business. The firm has won four big deals in the past three months, including a £600,000 IP telephony deal with Rotherham NHS Trust.
