Cisco goes Unified
Networking giant unveils suite of communications products
Cisco has launched the Unified Communications system, a new suite of voice, data and video products and applications designed to improve users' communications.
The networking giant has released over 35 new or updated products and services and the Cisco Unified Communications system allows end-users to integrate their communications system with their IT infrastructure to enable streamlining business processes and increased efficiency, the vendor claimed.
Charles Giancarlo, chief development officer of Cisco, said: “The Cisco Unified Communications system is the first true second-generation Internet Protocol (IP) Communications system providing not just telephone services, but rather a rich communications environment that seamlessly integrates voice, video and data collaboration in one system.
"Cisco Unified Communications leverages network intelligence to greatly simplify the day-to-day challenges of collaboration with colleagues,” added Giancarlo.
