Gunning for the document archiving space
Channel partners Line Scan and Avanquest get air in expanding document management market
Rae: Document and process automation are expanding areas
Military and aerospace organisations are the latest niche where channel partners are seeing revenue expansion from a sophisticated document archiving portfolio.
Vikki Corbett, business development manager at document archiving reseller Line Scan, said it specialised in supplying a wide range of document and data capture solutions to defence establishments and the aerospace industry.
“It is about helping them to understand how they manage their paperwork, and help them increase their data flows, and the security level is important,” she said.
“Business is still growing, although people do not have as much money to spend.”
The military and aerospace sectors are increasingly looking for ways to ensure their systems run in a more efficient and cost-effective way, she said.
However, customisation was key, she said. It was virtually impossible to generalise about what sorts of products were in demand, because in these sectors each project was quite different.
“The combination of our and Avanquest’s skill sets makes us a one-stop shop for any organisation looking to improve its business process,” she said.
For security reasons, she could not provide specific details on individual customers or their implementations, Corbett said. However, scanning, archiving and securely destroying documents were a common theme.
Line Scan is an 21st Century Supply Chain (SC21) registered supplier of document archiving for defence establishments and was recently acquired by the Bland Group of companies, which numbers military engineering firm Universal and hovercraft manufacturer Griffon among its subsidiaries.
SC21 is a UK scheme aiming to accelerate the competitiveness of the aerospace and defence industry.
Mike Rae, sales director at Avanquest, said document and process automation and management opportunities are growing strongly generally.
“Certainly since January,” Rae said.
