Dynamax Casts its net for a channel partner

Strategic alliance will see VArs able to sell bundle software and screens

Digital signage software vendor Dynamax has appointed display technology specialist nCast as a reseller for its content management software.

North-east based nCast manufactures a range of rear projection screens called ViVid. The agreement will see nCast sell Dynamax’s PointOfView software with its ViVid screens.

Roy Alexander, managing director of nCast, said: “We have our own set of VARs for our screens, so this agreement gives our resellers a whole digital signage solution to sell.”

Alexander shopped around before settling on Dynamax’s content management software.

“We needed to find a scheduling and broadcasting solution,” he said. “PointOfView is a reliable and proven piece of content delivery software. Now when we’re selling screens, we can ask the customer if they have thought about their content delivery options. If not, we can introduce PointOfView to them.

The digital signage sector is still an early adopter market but it is definitely in transition,” Alexander claimed. “The market is changing from being a technology push into a market pull.”

Chris Frampton, sales and marketing director at Dynamax, said: “We are delighted to welcome nCast as our latest channel partner. We are committed to working with companies such as nCast to develop the innovative digital signage applications that will galvanise interest in the technology among all-important retail and corporate customers.”

Ben Leet, senior consultant at analyst Decision Tree Consulting, said: “This type of partnership is certainly good news for the industry. Without these types of collaboration it’s much more difficult for end-users to realise the benefits of signage due to the complexity of the business model, which in turn makes signage harder for resellers to sell.”
