Nebulas sees second straight year of growth

Business increases by 75 per cent in the last financial year

Bullish VAR Nebulas Security has seen its business grow by 75 per cent in the past financial year.

The privately held company, whose core vendors include Check Point, Crossbeam, IronPort, PGP, Blue Coat and F5 Networks, attributes the growth to application security, traffic management and secure remote access.

Nick Garlick, managing director of Nebulas, told CRN: “Demand for security seems to have gone to a new level, with firms placing more importance on it. Compliance has also been a major factor.”

Garlick said the positive results were the company’s second consecutive year of growth.

“Last year we saw 50 per cent growth, and we are definitely looking to maintain that trend in the coming year,” he said. “We are talking with large financial organisations, retail customers, legal organisations, and they are demanding more and more services in different areas of security.”

He added that the firm is not currently looking to acquire, but is concentrating on organic growth.

“Last year we invested heavily in our support operation. We now have 24-hour support,” he said. “And engineers around the clock. We have the right structure in place.”

Gerard Kerrigan, UK partner manager at Nebulas partner IronPort, said: “Nebulas has a great limited product set that differentiates it from the competition. It has more focus, rather than selling a huge range with less focus. It also has a very stable sales and technical team, and a great reputation among both customers and vendor partners.”

Paul Coates, UK and Ireland sales director at F5 Networks, said: “Nebulas has put a lot of investment into our product set and is a very competent partner. Its investment is paying dividends. Nebulas is a very important partner for us.”
