Microsoft confident over Innovate-UK web site

Software giant wants developers to sign up to its early adopter programme

Microsoft is confident its Innovate-UK web site will encourage more software developers to sign up to its early adopter programme, which provides access to pre-release software.

By accessing pre-release Microsoft software, partners can gain a competitive advantage, the vendor has claimed. More than 300 UK ISVs were working with Windows Vista and Office 2007 prior to release.

Paul Murphy, partner lead in Microsoft’s developer and platform evangelism division, said: “Our research has shown that nine out of 10 software partners want to work with pre-release Microsoft technologies so their applications can be some of the first to take advantage of them. Innovate-UK will create an important resource to help them capitalise on this.”

The Innovate-UK site will focus on educating partners on how to make the most of specific technologies.
