PC-Ware targets services
VAR rebrands its services division as it deepens its focus
Mike Chambers: We want to be involved in the whole decision-making process
VAR PC-Ware’s UK arm has taken on a dedicated services manager and streamlined its vendor line-up as it increases its focus on services.
The firm, which is one of just five Microsoft EMEA LARs, has renamed its Software Services division to Professional Services and Infrastructure Solutions, and taken on Glyn Yates to head up the new-look business.
Mike Chambers, chief executive of PC-Ware told CRN: “Traditionally PC-Ware offered professional services, but more as an add-on to our software licensing sales – we weren’t involved at the beginning of the sales process. Now we want to be involved in the whole decision making process and can provide a lot more value to our customers. This move mimics what PC-Ware has been doing in the EMEA region for some time.
“When you offer the whole solution you get a greater confidence from the client and you are seen as a trustworthy partner,” he said.
Services offered under the new-look division include software asset management and Microsoft services such as Windows migrations and SharePoint deployments, and also services around virtualisation, datacentre, disaster recovery, storage optimisation and infrastructure performance management.
Yates said: “We can provision the entire solution stack for application delivery and the underlying infrastructure platform with our focus on five areas: assess, design, deploy, optimise and manage.”
Chambers said the firm has not added extra staff as a result of the restructure, but hinted that he was planning further expansion of the division in the near future.
