HDS shuffles management pack
Storage vendor overhauls senior management line-up to forge closer ties with parent company and channel
Storage vendor Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) has announced a shake up of its senior management team.
The firm's vice president and general manager for EMEA, Michael Väth, has been promoted to the role of senior vice president for global business innovation.
In his new role, effective from the start of next month, Väth will be responsible for forging closer ties between HDS and its parent company Hitachi.
"I am convinced that our great strategy at HDS in combination with the vast set of Hitachi solutions will allow us to grow our global market presence significantly in the future," said Väth.
"As technologies and solutions continue to evolve in line with the growth of the cloud, this is an inspiring time to be taking on responsibility for innovation across the global business."
Väth's successor will be Niels Svenningsen, a former HDS vice president who has spent the past four years overseeing the vendor's European operations.
Svenningsen will be tasked with growing HDS's market share across EMEA by working closely with the channel.
Of his new role, Svenningsen said: "I have very much enjoyed working with Michael Väth over the last four years and wish him very well in his new role.
"He has set a high standard of leadership and business growth which I look forward to upholding while adding my own experience and skills to help drive even more success for HDS in EMEA," he added.
