Ingram Micro gives SMB resellers more credit
Extension to broadliner's Credit Builder scheme allows SMB resellers to build credit limits faster than before
SMB resellers buying from Ingram Micro can build a £100,000 credit line with the distributor over 12 months, following an expansion of its Credit Builder scheme.
Ingram Micro launched Credit Builder in late 2008 in response to the growing problem of credit insurance withdrawal in the market.
Resellers could initially qualify for a credit limit of between £3,000 and £40,000 and by mid-2009 the distributor revealed the scheme had led to an extra £2.5m of credit being taken up by more than 400 resellers.
Ingram Micro UK managing director Matt Sanderson (pictured) said in a statement that the number of accounts trading through the programme had risen by 400 per cent.
"Limits available to these customers have dramatically increased to over £30m," Sanderson added.
"At a time when everyone is talking cutbacks, we are proud to be supporting our reseller customers with a continued expansion of our SMB credit facilities in 2011."
The distributor stressed that the 2011 incarnation of the scheme, CreditBuilder+, enables resellers to build their credit facility up to £100,000 over a 12-month period. This is subject to them utilising the incremental increases in the facility and agreeing to pay by direct debit.
Sanderson said: "We are committed to supporting the rapid growth of our SMB reseller customers, and we are now offering more monthly credit in this segment, even prior to this expansion, which will bring more customers onto the programme and enable them to build their credit facility over a shorter space of time than previously."
