IBM gobbles up UK software maker Daeja

Milton Keynes-based imaging firm Daeja to be integrated into IBM's Software Group and Enterprise Content Management arm

IBM has snapped up UK software vendor Daeja in an effort to boost its imaging and file-sharing capabilities.

Milton Keynes-based Daeja provides software designed to make it easier for businesses to view large files and pictures and is a privately held firm. Through its network of resellers, it claims to reach around 4,000 clients across a variety of vertical markets.

The firm, which was acquired for an undisclosed fee, also provides business information tools to data-intensive businesses such as banks, insurance brokers and healthcare providers.

IBM, a long-time strategic partner of the UK player, claims its latest addition will complement its big data capabilities and help customers find new insights into new and emerging data content.

Big Blue will integrate Daeja into its Software Group and Enterprise Content Management business and the recently acquired firm's boss Stu Moss said the move will benefit his customers.

"With our combined strengths, we can help clients manage their data challenges and directly enhance IBM's key market initiatives for big data, mobile and content management," he said.
