Mike Norris backs Tories with letter
Computacenter boss among 100 big-business leaders to praise Conservative-led corporation tax move
Computacenter boss Mike Norris (pictured) has lent his support to the Conservatives by joining more than 100 leaders of big UK businesses in writing a letter in support of the party.
In a letter to The Daily Telegraph, which published it this morning, 103 business leaders praised measures put in place by the Conservative-led government, mainly lowering corporation tax to 20 per cent.
Carphone Warehouse founder Sir Charles Dunstone also featured on the list of signatories - which all signed in a personal capacity - along with some familiar faces such as former Dragons' Den man Duncan Bannatyne and The Apprentice's baroness Karren Brady as well as the bosses of Primark, Iceland, Costa Cofee and Ted Baker.
The group said the move was "very important in showing the UK is open for business" and "a key part of their [prime minister David Cameron and chancellor George Osborne's] economic plan".
"We believe this Conservative-led government has been good for business and has pursued policies which have supported investment and job creation," the letter reads.
"The result is that Britain grew faster than any other major economy last year and businesses like ours have created over 1.85 million new jobs.
"We believe a change in course will threaten jobs and deter investment. This would send a negative message about Britain and put the recovery at risk."
