Mirus IT outgrows offices
Milton Keynes MSP looking to double in size
Managed service provider Mirus IT is moving to larger offices to satisfy its five-year ambition of doubling in size.
The Milton Keynes-based firm, which partners with vendors including Datto and Autotask, is about to move into premises that are almost double the size of its current 7,500 sq ft base.
"We are setting ourselves up for the next five years," said Mirus IT managing director Paul Tomlinson.
"We are currently at 85 staff and are targeting 160 in five years. The most difficult thing for us is attracting and retaining the best staff, so we are hoping to wow them with the office, along with everything else about the business."
Talks to buy a London-based MSP recently fell through and Mirus is actively looking at acquisitions to help it reach the target quicker, Tomlinson indicated.
He claimed Mirus, which has ISO 9001, 14001 and 27001 - and is working towards ISO 20000 - is more highly accredited than almost any other UK MSP.
"Autotask recently sent something out with levels zero to four in terms of where people are in the MSP model," he said. "We would rank ourselves as three or 3.5. The whole MSP 2.0 and virtual IT director thing - we're seeing we're already there with certain customers.
"The big difference we have is just on quality and I cannot think of another MSP in the UK that will have the same badges on the wall as us by the early part of next year, which will certainly help us."
