Micro-P has launched a next-day delivery service for Dell laptops and desktops.
The distributor already offers a next-day delivery service to resellers for Dell's PowerEdge servers, but has now extended this to include Dell's Latitude, Vostro and Optiplex ranges of laptops and desktops.
Phil Brown, commercial director at the firm, claimed the move was driven by reseller feedback.
"Our next-day PowerEdge business is growing substantially and the service has been well received," Brown said in a statement.
"The number-one piece of feedback we received on the project was to add notebooks and desktops to the mix as there is a real demand for swift delivery on Dell PCs and laptops in the SME market. We are delighted therefore to be able to respond to such market demands to offer Dell notebooks and desktops."
Talking to ChannelWeb, Brown confirmed the intiative represents the first time Micro-P has carried Dell PC business-to-business stock. The distributor is currently carrying about £100,000 in inventory in its warehouse.
"We shouldn't underestimate the importance of the lead time when you have customers that need kit onsite in 24-48 hours, which is something Dell struggles to do," he said.
Micro-P already carries PCs and laptops from Lenovo, Toshiba, Samsung, Fujitsu and Acer, but Brown denied the addition of Dell would cannibalise existing revenues. "It just brings us opportunities with new customers we haven't previously seen, and helps resellers that are looking for convenient and off-the-sehlf purchasing," he said.
