Probrand portal helps West Midlands to save and prosper

VAR also set to showcase its money saving site at council gathering

Reseller Probrand is hoping to help West Midlands' councils save 2.5 per cent of their £140m IT budget with the help of its IT Index portal.

Probrand will showcase its IT Index at the forthcoming West Midlands Centre of Excellence (WMCOE) ICT Procurement event, a gathering of IT and financial officers from the area's 38 councils.

IT Index is an online ordering system that searches for a vendor, and processes payment, invoicing, delivery and support, with the aim of giving a simpler, more cost-effective structure.

The reseller is the only private sector organisation to be invited and hopes to emphasise cost-saving benefits to the attendees.

Stephen Bushell, group head of Probrand, said: "The success of the technology behind the IT index can also be applied to catalogues in other market verticals. In conjunction with our additional tool sets, users can enjoy a total commerce solution.

"The ICT Procurement event qualified our understanding that the public sector is becoming more entrepreneurial and given the interest we received, our technology will undoubtedly assist in meeting efficiency targets," added Bushell.
