KeConnect hungry for broadband resellers

ISP takes advantage of uptake in broadband capabilities

ISP KeConnect is targeting 20 new resellers a month as the channel places more emphasis on broadband capabilities.

While VARs are looking to avoid increasing margin pressure and expand into voice over IP (VoIP), KeConnect is hoping to offer new value-add opportunities and swell its reseller ranks.

Robert Kemp, managing director of KeConnect, claimed: “We offer a real business opportunity for resellers. Margins are tighter than ever in the channel and working with us will allow another revenue stream.”

Kemp said KeConnect, which has 450 resellers, is seeking partners that see an opportunity in broadband and actively want to sell to new customers.

“We are not setting VARs targets, but those that get to grips with broadband can become a Gold partner after 99 subscriptions,” he said.

Kemp also stated that KeConnect will release additional VoIP-focused products that will enable VARs to offer a more complete package while improving KeConnect’s close ties with partners.

Tom Leaney, managing director of KeConnect reseller Digital Network Solutions, said: “We have been working with KeConnect since November 2002. We were looking for an ISP that we could rely on, that was easy to talk to and helpful.

“Of all the suppliers we have worked with KeConnect is the best as it responds so quickly. It is not the cheapest, but it offers good service.”

Leaney said KeConnect’s size was important as it ensures it is not taken over by a larger player, but it is not too large that communication is affected.

“Resellers need someone to offer the broadband so they can add value through VoIP. We are assessing VoIP technology and waiting for the market to mature,” added Leaney.
