Trustmarque embraces public sector cuts

VAR launches scheme to help public sector bodies save money in advance of the swingeing cuts

In a squeeze: Public sector budgets are being slashed under the ConLib government

Trustmarque is planning on stealing a march in the public sector by launching a dedicated cost saving campaign.

The VAR claims its Work Smart Cost Saving Campaign has been designed to ‘squeeze out costs’ and stretch limited public sector budgets further. It is focusing resources on helping public sector organisations achieve a reduction in spend, while not impacting the efficiency and security of day-to-day operations.

Government budget cuts are set to have a significant impact on the channel, as public sector spending is to be reduced by £83bn by 2014. One of the biggest casualties so far is the Building Schools for the Future scheme, which was axed in July.

Under its new money saving scheme, Trustmarque will concentrate on five major areas within the public sector: central and local government, MoD, the Police and the NHS.

Angelo di Ventura, sales and marketing director at Trustmarque, said: “The public sector is a key part of our business. For more than 20 years we have been a trusted advisor to the public sector, ensuring maximum value for their investment.

“We have supported organisations through the boom and bust years and we understand better than most the pressures they face. Now we want to assist further by showing the public sector how simple it is to achieve cost savings.”
