Persistence conquers platform rivalry
Vendor turns to the channel to boost revenue
Data infrastructure software vendor Persistence is looking to drive half of its revenue through the channel over the next six months.
The company provides a data infrastructure which, it has claimed, brings business information to global decision makers without the expense of replicated data centres.
Chris Keene, chief executive of Persistence, said: "In the beginning we sold a software platform which competed with BEA and IBM, but earlier this year we came out with a new product that handles data management as part of IBM and BEA products.
"This has meant we can work more closely with system integrators, especially those that already work with IBM and BEA on their WebSphere and WebLogic platforms."
Persistence is looking for geographical and vertical partners and additional VARs that are already partnered with IBM and BEA.
John Halprin, business development manager at system integrator and consultancy firm NT/e, a BEA partner, said: "The fact that we are a BEA partner caused our initial interest in the software. It reduces operating costs and the number of data centres, which is a benefit to our clients."
