CA targets mid-market expansion

CA looks to the mid-market to boost sales

Software giant CA has rolled out its first dedicated mid-market programme to ramp up its presence in the space.

The vendor, which defines mid-market as firms with between 500 and 5,000 employees, originally unveiled its channel-focused mid-market division in April (CRN, 23 April).

Its latest programme, initially focused on its recovery management software suite, will give mid-market partners direct access to CA technology experts, dedicated partner enablement resources and 24-hour remote and on-site installation support.

Tim Goodwin, director of recovery management sales EMEA at CA, said: “We have listened to partners and recognised that we needed to give them additional levels of support. We want to make sure that service level delivery is high and ensure that partners stay focused.”

To qualify for the programme partners must meet a number of criteria including having certified and trained technical staff, a mid-market business focus and must generate at least $500,000 a year for CA in recovery management business revenue.

Tony Conway, vice president of EMEA services at MTI Technology, told CRN: “This will allow our technical architects to have support and help ensure the products are installed in the correct environments. If problems are encountered we also have direct contact with the vendor to ensure a speedy resolution.”

Ross Miller, managing director of Trustmarque Solutions, said: “This is definitely something that we have been waiting for and it is good to see CA delivering on its promises.”
