Suppliers hit by Call Performance demise
Distributors left out of pocket as outsourcing and telemarketing firm is wound up
Footing the bill: Call Performance's suppliers have taken a financial hit
Channel suppliers have been left out of pocket after the winding up of outsourcing and telesales specialist Call Performance Ltd.
A winding up petition was recently presented against the Gravesend-based company, which was incorporated in 2001. The petition was subsequently granted and the company has been wound up.
Broadliner Bell Micro has lost more than £7,000, following a recent unpaid transaction. It was the first time Call Performance had done business with the distributor.
Bell's director of credit Eddie Pacey said: "It was unfortunate and disappointing that, having chosen to support a small business, they were unable to pay us on the first transaction that we did."
Call Performance's most recently available financial results, for the 12 months to 31 March 2008, show turnover stood at £830,085, down from £1.4m the previous year. Net profit was just £8,633, down from £174,615 in 2007.
The firm's assets also dwindled over the course of the year, with money due from debtors falling from £148,885 to £104,454. Cash levels practically halved to £134,162.
