Tandberg grabs hold of Azlan's mane

Distributor claims deal will give its resellers access to a high-growth market segment

The partnership grants Azlan access to Tandberg's telepresence technology

Videoconferencing vendor Tandberg has added Azlan to its stable of distributors in Europe.

The pan-European partnership hands Tech Data-owned Azlan access to Tandberg’s full range of telepresence, high-definition videoconferencing and mobile video solutions.

Azlan European managing director Simon England said telepresence and videoconferencing are continuing to grab “a lot of attention” due to firms’ drive to cut travel costs and improve virtual communications.

According to figures from Wainhouse Research, the videoconferencing market will enjoy a compound average growth rate of 20 per cent per annum between 2007 and 2013, when it will reach a value of $5.36bn (£3.25bn).

Tandberg claims to have a 40 per cent market share of the endpoint sector and 45 per cent share of the infrastructure segment of the market.

England said the partnership would provide its resellers with solutions for the desktop all the way up to the boardroom.

“This type of high-growth product line presents resellers with tremendous potential to grow their revenue streams and their value-added business,” he said.

Wayne Stephens, vice president of channels EMEA at Tandberg, said of the partnership: “Together, we can meet the increasing demand for video at the desktop as part of a unified communications platform right through to the immersive telepresence suite.”
