Game on for home PC users

Gaming still blasts SoHo, children's education and internet access when it comes to using the home PC.

A Gallup poll revealed 36% of respondents use their home PC for playing computer games, well ahead of home administration and finances (32%).

And only a fraction of parents are worried too much time is spent game-playing - just 6%.

SoHo doesn't even get into double figures. Just 9% use the home PC for business purposes.

Nearly three quarters of parents believe a home PC will boost their offsprings' career path, while just under half are convinced their children's academic performance has improved since bringing a PC into the home. But only a quarter of users end up educating their children on a PC.

Despite the hype, a mere 6% use their PC to access the internet, running neck and neck with social club and

charity enthusiasts.

Gallup polled more than 1,000 PC households.
