NetSuite bashes Sage over mobility
ERP vendor claims distie Siracom has moved over to its tech from Sage too
Netsuite has lashed out at rival Sage, boasting results from a survey it commissioned which claim its competitor's customers are constrained to using PCs and claiming it has pinched one of its customers too.
NetSuite commissioned YouGov to survey 531 ERP decision makers – most of which were at director level – in businesses with between 50 and 1,000 staff earlier on in the year.
The results claim that 75 per cent of those surveyed who use Sage said they had to access business information from a desktop PC, and not through the cloud or from other devices.
Only 13 per cent of Sage customers said they were able to access their software online, less than half the average for all other software users surveyed in the report combined, NetSuite added.
It is not the first time NetSuite has squared up to Sage – last year, it slammed its cloud strategy and paraded new VAR Eureka Solutions as a recent recruit.
Today the software vendor threw another stone at its rival and showed off another new customer, distributor Siracom. The firm claims Sage could not provide the necessary scalability for the distie and that Siracom previously had to deal with regular crashes and spend hours recovering data.
Siracom now uses NetSuite products after moving from Sage's Act offering, and the distributor's managing director David Thompson said the change had helped his firm.
"We are an ambitious company and moving to NetSuite has meant that we are no longer being held back by Sage's technology," he said. "Having a system we can completely rely on means we are able to focus our energies on moving the business forward, rather than fire fighting."
In response to request for comment, Sage provided a response from partner Innov8 which seems more than happy with the vendor's offering.
Innov8's commercial director Carl Maher said: "Some of our customers are already live on Sage 200 Online and right now we're seeing increasing demand for our Sage cloud solutions."
