Crayon scribbles deal with Cloudamour

Cloud reseller claims SAM specialist will help 'demystify the black art of licensing'

Microsoft cloud reseller Cloudamour has joined forces with software-asset management (SAM) firm Crayon in order to "demystify the black art of licensing" for its customers.

The Norwegian SAM firm recently set out its plan for UK growth and said Cloudamour would play a part, but today it opened up further on the partnership.

As part of the agreement, Cloudamour customers will be able to use Crayon's subscription services to understand where their software assets are, and to analyse their spending in order to ensure they are on the straight and narrow.

Cloudamour said the deal will be an "integral part" of its plans to sustain rapid growth and will help make life easier for confused customers.

"In order for us to scale, we wanted to have someone who can demystify the black art of licensing," said Cloudamour founder Mitchell Feldman. "We want to stick to what we're best at, so we've aligned with Crayon as we knew they could do that, make sure that we're asking all the right questions and ultimately make sure that our clients get most value.

"Licensing forms an intrinsic part of realising the true cost savings of cloud."

Crayon's UK boss Gareth Johnson said: "The partnership agreement with Cloudamour will allow us to bring a wealth of cloud deployment and consulting services to our UK customers, as well as providing the perfect enhancement to Crayon's core SAM and licensing-optimisation offerings."
