SCC sprints ahead in government procurement race

VAR wins sole supplier status in Buying Solutions Sprint ii framework agreement

SCC has triumphed in the latest Buying Solutions Sprint ii procurement process

SCC has won a lucrative four-year Buying Solutions framework agreement as a sole supplier of ICT products and services to a wide range of public sector bodies.

The agreement, known as Sprint ii, offers a one-stop-shop for IT products and services to public sector bodies including central government departments and their agencies, non-departmental public bodies, NHS bodies and local authorities.

According to Buying Solutions, Sprint ii will "fill a niche" not covered by existing Buying Solutions ICT framework agreements.

Products and services available under Sprint ii fall into four categories: hardware, software, infrastructure (including networks and telecommunications) and services.

Tracy Westall, director responsible for the public sector at SCC, said: “We are delighted that SCC has been selected to provide a central supply of ICT services and solutions via the Sprint ii framework agreement.

“Although the company has played a role in government procurement for several years, we are not the only UK technology company to have been awarded the sole supplier framework agreement.”

Robert Macleod, project manager for Sprint ii at Buying Solutions, said: “Following a rigorous evaluation and selection process, SCC has been awarded a framework agreement to provide ICT to the public sector.

“SCC will play a key role in helping the public sector to buy a wide range of products and services quickly and easily.”
