Veeam gets a handle on growing VAR base

ProPartner programme designed to improve communication into vendor's 130 resellers

The new partner programme will open up communications lines between the vendor and its partners

Virtualisation vendor Veeam Software has formalised its UK partner programme to help respond to the needs of its growing reseller base.

Since launching in the UK 18 months ago, the US-based vendor has signed up more than 130 resellers, explained Phil King, UK channel manager at Veeam Software, making the need for a more formal partner programme a must.

“We needed to introduce a more effective way of keeping our partners informed, which is why we have launched the ProPartner programme,” he said.
The programme features a three-tier structure with partners classified as Basic, Silver or Gold based on their technical ability and accreditations with VMware and HP.

Partners at all levels will have access to marketing tools, training opportunities and special incentives via the programme’s ProPartner Portal.

Andrew Acton, vendor manager at Veeam partner Intercept IT, said the programme was proof of Veeam’s commitment to its VAR community.

He added: “Veeam’s ProPartner support will allow us to continue on with our success in the management of virtual environments and allow us to build on our existing relationship with them.”

Mel Wilks, virtualisation sales manager at Veeam distribution partner Magirus, said: “This more formal way of working will add considerable weight to Veeam’s channel strategy over the course of 2010.”
