IP telephony vendor Zed-3 is banking on its GTXT software to help it make a splash in the UK market.
GTXT allows firms to send and receive text messages between a Microsoft Outlook account and an employee’s mobile phone. It requires a $1,200 (£823) floating licence on the vendor’s GS8 modular gateway.
Available in four languages, it is compatible with Outlook 2003 and 2007. Zed-3 president Iain Milnes claimed the product had already enjoyed success in the US with banks, garages, schools and haulage firms.
“We know of no competitor,” he said. “Now companies have a means of easily communicating with people who may not be receiving emails.”
Milnes indicated Zed-3’s UK distributor Siracom has high hopes for GTXT, adding: “The UK is an important market one from where we are starting to springboard into Europe.”
