Wick Hill adds another voice vendor
Distributor continues charge into convergence space with Yealink signing
Wick Hill has diversified from its heritage in security into the converged voice and data market
Security distributor Wick Hill has moved deeper into the communications market by adding voice over IP vendor Yealink to its line-up.
Founded in 2001, China-based Yealink makes IP and video phones.
Wick Hill is no stranger to the networking and telecoms space having already signed partnerships with Samsung and Netgear this year. In August, the distributor enlisted former Westcon and MTV Telecom sales head Siobhan Gibbs to spearhead its voice and data push.
Gibbs said: "This new appointment further demonstrates our commitment to supplying our resellers with a truly converged product portfolio."
Yealink earmarked its T20 series of SIP telephones as a top seller and Gibbs said SIP would benefit Wick Hill's resellers.
"SIP devices allow our channel to sell solutions into new and existing markets without being forced to sell the proprietary technology that had previously dominated the voice communications market," she said.
Roy Stephenson, Yealink's distributor account manager, said the vendor needed distributors such as Wick Hill that have strong links into the channel.
"This closeness means that we can gain a good level of feedback from resellers and end users which helps us to develop and improve our products," he said.
