Agilisys continues contract-winning streak with London deal

Service provider to reduce City of London authority's costs by 30 per cent over five years

Services provider Agilisys has won a five-year deal to supply the City of London Corporation (COLC) with IT supplies, and is set to cut the authority's costs by nearly a third.

The London-based firm will supply COLC with voice and data networks, systems provision and support, disaster recovery, business analysis and developmental services throughout the course of the contract from its east London hub.

The contract will see approximately 30 staff transfer to Agilisys through TUPE, and the duo will work together to create 100 apprenticeships for youngsters aged between 16 and 18 in the east London area.

The services provider has been on a contract-winning streak at the moment, scooping a £47m deal with a quartet of northern councils as well as an £8m deal to renew Wolverhampton Council's ageing kit.

The size of the COLC contract was not disclosed.

Roger Chadwick, COLC's finance committee chairman said Agilisys understood the authority's technical and business needs.

"We were looking for a strategic partner, who understood our business and could tailor their service to meet our needs," he said. "Agilisys demonstrated this and also had a strong understanding of – and commitment to – corporate responsibility, and so will be responsive to the needs of our stakeholders and the people we serve across London."

Agilisys' chief executive Steven Beard said the COLC deal shows his firm's commitment to the local area.
