e92plus brings social media marketing to resellers

Distributor creates multiple vendor statuses all in one place for reseller partners

Security VAD e92plus has rolled out its social media marketing tool to its reseller partners following a successful trial run.

The e92Social platform creates marketing statuses for e92plus’ vendor partners to be pushed out to resellers for use in marketing via such channels as LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.

Neil Langridge, marketing manager at e92plus, claims that although other distributors have done similar things, this is the first service of its kind.

"As far as I am aware, we are the first multi-vendor platform out there," he said. "Once they have registered, it enables our resellers to integrate any social media account.

"We post regular, fresh content every week covering multiple vendors, giving them the ability to set up the platform to just automatically post that content straight onto their accounts or edit and personalise it."

The posts contain news, case studies, images and videos and are created with the aim of making things as easy as possible for e92plus' partners, Langridge said.

He added that this strategy adds value to vendors and resellers as it saves them time and money on marketing activities, and increases audience reach compared with email marketing, which some say is in its death throes.

When asked why the value of social media is only being realised now, he said: "People are beginning to look at it and really starting to invest in it. I also think up until recently it has been very difficult to prove ROI. It has been the exciting new thing, but until now has been intangible.

"The opportunity for us is that we will eventually be able to integrate this with a number of our other platforms; over time things will become more and more integrated," he said.
