Amillan wraps up project

Amillan has consolidated the NEC Group's telephony
Reseller Amillan has completed the installation of a new IP telephony system for exhibitions titan the NEC Group at its venues across Birmingham.
The deal was worth £500,000, and the deployment took six months to complete. Amillan installed Alcatel-Lucent contact centre hardware and software to create a voice and data platform for use by 2,000 employees.
Martin Ratcliffe, business development manager for Amillan, said: “A year ago, the NEC Group had three types of telephony and it wanted to consolidate them into one system.”
The NEC Group recently put in a new contact centre and Ratcliffe claimed this was a driver for the upgrade to IP telephony.
The main venue alone contains 200,000sq m of exhibition space. “The size and the scale of the project was a challenge. Logistically, it was quite an interesting exercise,” said Ratcliffe.
