RM in double BSF victory
But sword of Damocles continues to hover over £55bn programme
Top marks: Derby BSF deal was RM's eighth this year
RM has been chosen to provide managed ICT services for two more Building Schools for the Future (BSF) deals, despite continued uncertainty over the future of the £55bn government scheme.
The VAR has bagged a Barking and Dagenham BSF deal set to be worth £44m over eight years and a Derby City BSF deal worth an expected £35m over three phases.
According to research house TechMarketView, RM now has 20 BSF contracts under its belt.
RM chief executive Terry Sweeney said of the Derby deal: “This is the eighth BSF programme RM has been appointed for so far this financial year. It is an enormous privilege to be involved in improving school environments for so many pupils.”
The double victory comes amid fears over the future of the BSF programme as the government looks to chop back spending.
Chancellor George Osborne gave no more clues as to its fate in yesterday’s Emergency Budget, but it is no secret the scheme is being reviewed.
