Embotics to unite VARs with private cloud

Private cloud management platform provider launches partner programme so resellers can move forward

VARs see private cloud as an elite club from which they are barred, according to private cloud management platform provider Embotics, which has launched a partner programme that aims to make cloud computing more accessible to reseller partners.

The Embotics Partner Programme, which launched in June, has already signed 30 reseller partners, but the company hopes to attract more.

The programme, which is divided into Authorised and Elite tiers, offers discounts of up to 25 per cent as well as marketing and sales assistance.

The launch of its private cloud V-Commander product takes the cost and complexity out of cloud computing, according to the vendor.

The Canadian outfit, which signed a pan-European deal with distributor Magirus at the start of the year, expanded into EMEA in May 2011.

Martin Sajkowski, director of international operations at Embotics, believes the programme can give VARs better access to private cloud solutions.

He said: "The launch of our partner programme demonstrates our commitment to helping our partners diversify and sustain growth in a competitive market.

"The channel wants to move forward from virtualisation but they find that investing and taking a risk is too costly and complex. We have targeted the SME market so they can scale up or down to provide the channel with what is most cost effective for them.

"The market wants to do more but private cloud is seen as an elite club that they cannot take part in," he added.
