Jon Sidwick
Director TDMaverick Europe, TDMaverick
Career so far I spent 11 years at Sharp Electronics, from field sales to director, and have been with TDMaverick for 17 years.
What was your first job and were you any good at it? A TV salesperson and yes I was good at it. I've not stopped talking (selling) since.
Who was your top teenage pin-up? Joanna Lumley in her Avengers outfit! No guesses as to why.
My colleagues won't know this about me but... I took four golf lessons to try and get involved in this industry-standard pastime - I was pathetic so thought best not to continue.
What is your favourite snack? Wasabi nuts.
What has been your career high point to date? Working with some truly fantastic and inspiring staff members throughout the last 17 years at TDMaverick.
Has 2013 been good, bad or ugly? Very good. After three years the TDMaverick European evolution has come together with a strong coherent market approach which is delivering.
What do you say when asked at a party what you do for a living? I just say "IT" and that stops further questions.
If I wasn't working in the channel I would probably be... as now in any industry - pretending to be knowledgeable about something and selling it hard.
What will be the channel's biggest challenge in 2014? Consumerisation
of B2B.
