Martin Large
Chief executive, Steljes
Career so far
I spent 15 years in investment banking and derivatives and have been 17 years at Steljes.
What was your first job and were you any good at it?
I started work at Kleinwort Benson as a temp and left after seven years. The seven years included a two-year stint in New York. I now know that I knew nothing.
Who was your top teenage pin-up?
Lena Zavaroni, obviously.
My colleagues won't know this about me but...
I like them in reality.
What is your favourite snack?
Sushi.
What has been your career high point to date? The impact that Steljes has had in education as a result of pioneering such technologies as the interactive whiteboard.
Has 2013 been good, bad or ugly? Good so far. We're making progress.
What do you say when asked at a party what you do for a living? I was told not to talk to strangers.
If I wasn't working in the channel I would probably be...
An out of work banker.
What will be the channel's biggest challenge in 2014?
Delivering real value to their customers.
